Hillsborough, Kids for a Quid and the evening crowd factor
Sheffield Wednesday are promoting a family-friendly Hillsborough night against Cambridge United, but the atmosphere only becomes a real asset if the Owls start fast.
THE WEDNESDAYPRESS.Sheffield Wednesday host Cambridge United tonight, with a 7.45pm kick-off, early turnstiles and a family ticket offer at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday are back at Hillsborough tonight, Tuesday 27 October, with Cambridge United the visitors and a 7.45pm kick-off in S6.
Turnstiles open from 6.15pm, while the ticket office and Megastore open from 9.00am. Wednesday are urging supporters to arrive early and allow extra time for travel, security checks and getting into the ground.
The fixture is being run as Kids for a Quid. Under-14 tickets are £1 across the stadium, while under-18s are £7. Supporters who buy in advance under their own ID number will receive 10 Ticket Priority Points.
For anyone heading to Hillsborough for the first time, the stadium postcode is S6 1SW. Wednesday also produce a matchday programme for all first-team home fixtures, available around the ground and in the Megastore.
There is a travel note to keep in mind too. Because of planned Supertram improvement works, replacement bus services will operate between Cathedral and Middlewood Interchange, so supporters are being told to check the latest travel information before setting off.
Inside the ground, Wednesday say there are new food and drink options for this fixture, including boneless chicken wings in the South Stand, Grandstand and North Stand kiosks, plus Béres sausage rolls across the stadium. Two new pizza twists — mozzarella and salami, and mozzarella and tomato — are being offered in selected stands, while gluten-free and vegan options are available from at least one kiosk in every stand.
The football itself brings a straightforward task for Wednesday: respond to recent defeats and get back to winning ways at home. With the attention on the pitch again, this is another chance to make use of a busy Hillsborough night under the lights.
For supporters, though, the practical message is the same: Sheffield Wednesday v Cambridge United, Hillsborough, Tuesday 27 October, 7.45pm. Get there early, leave extra time for travel and be in position before kick-off.
Choose a formation, tap a position, then select a player. Picking someone twice moves them to the new position.
